The
Dorzong Monastic Institute
The main project held by H.E. the 8th. Dorzong
Rinpoche in current days is the creation of a Monastic Institute,
The Dorzong Monastic Institute,
whose Main Aims are:
- Preserve Buddhism in general and Drukpa
Kagyud tradition in particular
- Establish the Dorzong Monastic Institute
in order to keep its unique tradition alive
- Help interested students of the Himalayan
border hill areas like Zangskar, Lahoul-Spiti, Kinnour,
etc., as well as Tibetans residing in India, to study and
practice Buddha Dharma, the tradition of their ancestors
- Hold Buddhist Festivals, Pujas and
Ceremonies; translate Buddhist texts and, publish rare important
Buddhist texts. Hold seminars and lectures on Buddhist teachings,
Yoga, Ethics, Art, Tibetan language, as well as Environment
and Health Care. Furthermore, DMI will provide medical aid
to local needy poor population.

Dorzong Monastic Institute Charitable Trust
(DMICT) was created. Now, land has to be purchased and
other infrastructure for permanent establishment of the Institute
has to be built up. DMICT´s main objective is
to construct, maintain, alter, improve and develop buildings
for the welfare of the Institute and students, teachers, staff
and Dharma practitioners. The construction plans included
a Buddha Vihara, Stupas, Seminar Halls, staff offices, teachers´
residence, a hostel for students, a guest house, kitchens,
stores, a library, archives, art gallery and a public health
centre.

Jangchup Jong - Land for The
Dorzong Institute

DMICT will accept, collect and administer,
in appropriate and legal manner, donations, contributions,
grants or subscriptions received in India and/or abroad, in
cash or in kind from any person (s), body of persons or trust,
to support Dorzong Monastic Intitute (DMI). Also it
will support, encourage and make funds available for Проекты
within the property of the Institute that may serve as a source
of income, such as a retreat centre and a guest-house. The
revenue for such Проекты will be used for the educational,
maintenance and general use of the Institute.
